It began when the classroom disappeared.
In 2021, we began as SRAKAF, responding to the closure of secondary schools to girls across Afghanistan. What started as home-based education grew into a network of learning spaces reaching girls and women who had been pushed out of the formal education system.

Five years of learning beyond closed doors.
For five years, we have continued this work through home-based schools, literacy programmes and skills development, helping women and girls learn, create, earn and remain connected to their communities.
Education is not simply the transfer of knowledge. It can preserve independence, identity and hope when almost every other pathway has been removed.
